Crae Dawson (Nelson Leafs), Trey Stephenson (Kimberley Dynamiters) and Ethan Lawczynski (Castlegar Rebels) have been selected the Hudl Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending Nov. 19.
Dawson – Top Forward – The Osoyoos product collected six assists in two games as the Leafs lost to Grand Forks 8-6, then rebounded to defeat Castlegar 1-0 in overtime. Dawson had five assists against Grand Forks and started the play leading to Ty Nykyforuk’s OT winner. Dawson has 13 points in 15 games for the Leafs this season.
Stephenson – Top Defenceman – The Grande Prairie, Alberta product had a goal and three assists to help the Dynamiters win both its games on the weekend. Stephenson had four points in their 7-0 win over Summerland, then was plus-two in their 6-0 win against Creston Valley. Stephenson has 10 points in 19 games for the Dynamiters this season.
Lawczynski – Top Goalie – The Castlegar product was key in the Rebels 2-1 shootout win over Beaver Valley, then a 1-0 OT loss to Nelson. Against the Nitehawks, Lawczynski stopped 40 of 41 shots, then 32 of 33 shots against the Leafs. The 6-4, 185 pound goalie had a 0.96 goals against average and a .973 save percentage in the two games combined.
