The Castlegar Rebels are looking for a Volunteer Game Day Broadcast Producer to help bring our games—and players—to life for fans in the arena and online.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sports media, broadcasting, and content creation while being part of a dynamic junior hockey organization.

▫️Role Overview:
The Broadcast Producer will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing the Rebels’ game day video production and digital content.

▫️Commitment: 
• 2 Exhibition Games
• 22 Regular Season Home Games
• Playoff Games (as required)

▫️Key Responsibilities:
• Lead or assist with live game broadcast production (streaming, camera coordination, graphics, etc.)
• Plan and produce video features, including:
- Player interviews
- Coach interviews
- Behind-the-scenes content
• Create short-form video content for social media and fan engagement
• Collaborate on sponsor-related video content and advertisements
• Work with the team’s media, marketing, and game ops staff to ensure a smooth broadcast experience
• Help develop ideas to enhance the fan viewing experience

▫️Ideal Candidate
• Passion for hockey and/or sports media
• Interest in broadcasting, video production, or digital media
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, live event environment
• Basic experience with video cameras, editing software, or streaming tools is an asset (but not required)
• Reliable and able to commit to scheduled game days

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing program committed to player development, team culture, and competitive success.

🔸Position Overview
The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to support all aspects of the team, with a strong emphasis on player development, skill progression, and daily on-ice execution. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a positive leader, and dedicated to helping players advance both on and off the ice.

🔸Key Responsibilities
• Assist in planning and implementing practices focused on individual and team development
• Support game preparation, bench management, and in-game adjustments
• Work one-on-one with players to enhance skills, systems understanding, and hockey IQ

Alex has been an invaluable member of the Rebels organization, demonstrating outstanding leadership, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to player development. His passion for the game and dedication to helping young athletes reach their potential have made a lasting impact on our players and our program.

“On behalf of the entire Castlegar Rebels organization, I want to congratulate Alex on this tremendous opportunity,” said Mitch Rinas, President of the Castlegar Rebels. “While we’re certainly going to miss having him behind our bench, we’re incredibly proud to see him advance to the BCHL. The Castlegar Rebels are thrilled to announce that Brent Heaven is returning to join our coaching staff as an Assistant Coach!

Brent’s hockey journey comes full circle, returning to the very club where he first started his coaching career as an assistant back in 2005–06.

Coaching Highlights:
🔸Led Selkirk College to back-to-back BCIHL Championships (2015, 2016).
🔸Named 2019 BCIHL Coach of the Year & 2010 KIJHL Divisional Coach of the Year.
🔸Former BCHL Assistant Coach & Director of Player Personnel for the Trail Smoke Eaters.
🔸Background in driving elite youth and collegiate player advancement.

Brent’s extensive 15-year career, combined with his sharp on-ice strategy, makes him an incredible asset to our players and organization as we push for success!

The Castlegar Rebels are thrilled to announce that Brent Heaven is returning to join our coaching staff as an Assistant Coach!

Brent’s hockey journey comes full circle, returning to the very club where he first started his coaching career as an assistant back in 2005–06.

Coaching Highlights:
🔸Led Selkirk College to back-to-back BCIHL Championships (2015, 2016).
🔸Named 2019 BCIHL Coach of the Year & 2010 KIJHL Divisional Coach of the Year.
🔸Former BCHL Assistant Coach & Director of Player Personnel for the Trail Smoke Eaters.
🔸Background in driving elite youth and collegiate player advancement.

Brent’s extensive 15-year career, combined with his sharp on-ice strategy, makes him an incredible asset to our players and organization as we push for success!
