Langley Rivermen Commit to Castlegar Rebels Forward Brandon Costa for 2018-19 Season.
The Castlegar Rebels are pleased to announce that veteran forward Brandon Costa and the BCHL’s Langley Rivermen have agreed to commit to the 2000 born player for the 2018-19 season. Costa will join former Rebel Daneel Lategan who signed with the Riv prior to this season.
The Rebels signed Costa as a 16-year-old prior to the 2016-17 season. Last season he was affiliated with the Trail Smoke Eaters, where he finished the season after the Rebels were eliminated from the playoffs. After a strong main camp in Trail, Costa returned to the Rebels for his sophomore season where he currently has 20 points in 23 games. Costa finished the 2016-17 season with 33 points in 40 games. After 3 strong games in 3 nights and a goal this past weekend with the Langley Rivermen the commitment for next season was made official. Rebels General Manager Bill Rotheisler commented:
We are thrilled for Brandon. We were surprised to have him back this season. I thought he did a lot of good things with his opportunity affiliating in the BCHL last season, and to be able to be with an organization like Langley, where I know their staff appreciate and will benefit a great deal from his unique blend of skill and grit. He did great things for us the past two seasons; and he is going to do great things in the BCHL for the next three years.
We hope this gives Brandon some extra motivation off finish this season off strong as a Rebel. I am very excited to have been committed by the Langley Rivermen. I am looking forward to learning from my new coaches and teammates, and I know this organization is a great fit for me. Thank you to the Castlegar Rebels organization for being such a big part of my development and preparing me for this opportunity. I cannot wait to contribute to a deep playoff run and bring that experience to the next level.
