Goodwin Commits to Concordia University Wisconsin (ACHA D2)

The Castlegar Rebels are excited to announce the commitment of 1998 born Dallas Goodwin, to Concordia University Wisconsin (ACHA D2). Goodwin has played for the Rebels for the past 4 seasons, putting him 11th overall in Games Played; for the franchise.  CUW was in attendance at the KIJHL College Showcase in December, and Head Coach Brandon Richards was excited to have the opportunity to watch and meet with Goodwin during the event. Dallas is dynamic defenseman who can adapt to any situation. His vision and puck control make him a dual threat in both ends of the ice. Dallas will bring a very high skill set and motivated attitude to our CUW hockey program. The Rebels are excited that Goodwin is our first post-secondary commitment coming out of the 2018-2019 season and we are forward to more announcements coming soon. Head Coach & General Manager Carter Duffin was happy to support Goodwin through the process, Dallas had a great opportunity to learn and develop this season, both with his play and his leadership abilities, and took full advantage of those opportunities. He is a versatile player, playing both defence and forward during the season, and was one of our Assistant Captains this season. He was able to provide leadership in the room and set an example on the ice with his play. The Rebels organization would like to thank Dallas Goodwin for his years of service and would like to wish him the very best as he takes the next step of his hockey career.

Would you like to have the opportunity to play and develop with the Castlegar Rebels, our Spring Camp registration is now open, get all the details HERE.

2019 Rebels Spring Camp

2019 Rebels Spring Camp

The Castlegar Rebels are excited to announce that we have partnered with the Strathmore Wheatland Kings in the Heritage Junior Hockey League and the Fort St John Huskies of the Alberta based Northwest Junior Hockey League, to provide a Prep and ID Camp for players looking to ready themselves for Junior camps and to earn the opportunity to attend the Rebels Main Camp in the fall.

The Camp will include 4 games, plus an additional goaltender session on Saturday afternoon. The camp is open to players born between 1999 and 2002. Athletes who are interested in competing for a spot with the Rebels in this or future seasons will be evaluated by team coaches, while participants who have already committed to another junior program for the 2019 & 2020 season may attend but will not be evaluated. The camp will be limited to 4 teams and a max of 12 goaltenders, to ensure the highest level of competition. For the 2019 -2020 season, Alberta residents born in 2001 or earlier are eligible to play junior hockey in British Columbia. All players will be required to wear a full-face shield, neck guard and mouth guard.

The cost of attending the camp is $175 for skaters or $200 for goaltenders and spaces are limited. All camp participants will compete in four games over the weekend, with the game schedule set to be released once teams are confirmed in early May.
