Kole Halvorson a Rebel; Busy few days of trades in the Rebels’ front office.

The Castlegar Rebels are extremely thrilled to announce that Kole Halvorson has been acquired from the Princeton Posse in exchange for Scott Rademaker. Rademaker split last season with Castlegar and Comox Valley, while Halvorson has been with Princeton for the past two seasons. Halvorson spent the past two seasons with the Princeton Posse after completing his representative hockey in the Calgary Northstars Athletic Association. During his time there he established himself as one of the premier defensemen of the KIJHL. Known for his puck moving, skating ability and being an exceptionally well-liked person. Halvorson provides the Rebels with another left-handed defenseman who should have much success with the Rebels. General Manager and Head Coach Bill Rotheisler commented,

We expect our defenseman to be active. Whether its attacking the net in the offensive zone, or on the breakout and rushes. Kole fits that mould exceptionally well. He is the whole package: He is one of the best on ice players in our league, while also being one of the best off-ice people.

Rotheisler continued,

We couldn’t be happier to have Kole where Rebels colours.

In a statement from Kole Halvorson:

First and foremost, I want to thank the Princeton Posse coaching staff for all of their time and effort, I am a better all-around D-man because of the time I’ve spent there. As for the trade to Castlegar I am fortunate enough to have played with a couple former Rebels, they’ve had nothing but great things to say about the organization, the city and the fans. I am excited and looking forward to the 2018-19 season. August cannot come soon enough!!

On Rademaker, Rotheisler commented

Scott is a great player, and a great guy who is not afraid of tough conversations and I have allot of respect for him for that.  Scott was our best defenceman at times and I think Scott would agree that it never felt like he was going to be a long-term fit here, but we love what he brought to our organization and the player that he is and was for us.

In other news, Defenseman Chase Daniels has been traded to the Campbell River Storm for conditional future considerations. In a tweet, the Rebels thanked Chase  for two amazing years and being a huge part of two successful campaigns. Chase Daniels showed his class with his own tweet:

Would love to thank the (Castlegar Rebels) for 2 great years, made some crazy memories but looking forward to my new chapter.
